My Thoughts on Strange

Today Cognito Touched on things that i had thought about, but never really analyzed through an Artists point of view.

As a strange Fan, i can't complain too much that through out the year, albums are constantly dropping all year round. But today i finally saw how that affects an Artist that is passionate about his project.

This is how i see things operating on Strange. Album is announced. 2 Months Prior To release the pre order goes up. Through out those 2 months it's promote, promote, promote. Video comes out to promote the first and usually the last single of the album. Album Drops, They promote for about 2 weeks that the album is in stores and iTunes. Then BAM, Nothing. Time to Announce the next Strange album and focus all the attention for the next project dropping. The album that came out a month ago is history and in the back burner. It's like chewing gum and spitting it out before the flavor is even gone. They need to chew on that damn gum till it tastes like cardboard.

When you look at other Artists. When The album comes out, it's barely the beginning of Promo. On Strange, when the album comes out, it feels like it's the time when the promo Ends. When i see other artists drop an album, i see them touring and promoting, touring and promoting.ICP has done 3 different tours to Promote Bang Pow Boom. And i think at the beginning of next year, they will do yet another. Brotha Lynch Had an album that was considered 1 of the 25 best of the year. How many tours was he on, promoting Dinner and a Movie? 1 Strange Days and he barely had a Set. Sorry, but i don't think that 1 tour & 15 minutes per show is Enough. And he is already working on Coathanga, The Dinner and A Movie Period is Over (If you blinked, you missed it) I agree Strongly with Cognito. The Artists on Strange are Very Talented, but the proper promo is missing and they are not being allowed to expand. How many years did it take for Kutt and Kali to perform their own sets? Strange Days was the first time. Kutt dropped his first album on strange in 2004, it took him 6 yrs and 3 albums to finally get a 30 min set.

Imagine if Wayne did that with his Artists. Drake and Nicki Minaj only allowed to do 15 minutes during Wayne's Set. They would always be overshadowed and wouldn't be as big as they are. I'm not hating on strange. It's just that when you sit back and analyze it, it doesn't make sense. I was surprised when i heard that Kutt was going out on the Strange Noize tour. As crazy as it sounds, it was odd that he finally got an opportunity to shine on his own, on a tour that wasn't Tech Headlining.

Strange Right now needs to focus on their current roster and should forget about signing anyone. They need to straighten out things first. If they add 3 more artists. Now they will be dropping an album every month of the year. And it will just add to the problem. IMO

I just had to rant. I felt like my head was going to explode after i sat back and analyzed what cog said.
